Leaves: Deciduous,elliptic to oval.Rich glossy green,turning yellow or red in autumn. Native habitat: Open Areas,usually on damp ground, in China, Japan and Korea. Cultivation: Tolerates dappled shade.Grow in neutral to acid soil and shelter from cold winds. Propgation: By softwood cuttings in summer or by seed in autumn.
